Lithology and Thickness

Composed of siliceous calcilutite and marly nodular limestone. Contains beds of calcareous clay, gypsum, and dolomitic limestone. Divided into lower and upper members.

Lower contact

Unconformably overlies older Eocene units, such as the Rawaghah Member of the Bishima Fm.

Upper contact

Overlain by younger Miocene volcanic flows and basalt sheets, such as those from Jabal Assawda..

Mazul Ninah Fm represents the youngest pre-Quaternary fill sequence in specific structural depressions like the Hun Graben within the northwestern Sirt Basin.
